2 hours lessons x 4 plus performance!

Mr Ming Kwok is a highly experienced artistic pianist and vocal coach.

This class will be MULTI-LINGUAL (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish). You can choose to sing 2 or even 3 songs/arias if you think your stamina is sufficient. All 3 could be in different language.

The class will be STRICTLY limited to 6 singers.

Course content: • diction, especially comparative diction between languages • phrasing and more importantly, how to be musical • historical context, literary origin of the songs • presentation onstage

Gary will give technical advice during the class

Qualifications: – FRSM (Distinction) in solo piano – FTCL in solo piano – M.Mus (Piano Accomp., major teacher: Warren Jones) from Manhattan School of Music – M.Mus (Voice) from New England Conservatory of Music – Music Academy of the West with full scholarship – Goethe Institut German B2 Zertifikat

Career Highlights: – Champion of the Advanced Improvisation Section of the 12th HK (Asia) Piano Open Competition – Performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and the Lincoln Center in the US – Adjudicator of the final round of the Sixth Hong Kong International Youth Performing Arts Festival

– Faculty of the “Core Music” Summer Music Program held at Xinghai Conservatory of Music in August, 2019

Work Experience: – Assistant conductor and a chorus master for Musica Viva Hong Kong – Official accompanists for the first international operatic singing competition of which the illustrious jury included Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. – Audition pianist for the Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program and Aspen Opera Theater – Vocal coach at Portland Opera for their production of “Postcard from Morocco” Music Director of the Undergraduate Opera Theater at Manhattan School of Music – Assistant coach position at Glimmerglass Opera and Tanglewood Music Center (assisting Maestro James Levine, the then music director of Metropolitan Opera, on Don Giovanni) – Apprentice with Florida Grand Opera for their 2008-2009 season – Staff accompanist at NYU Tisch School of Drama, Metropolitan Opera Guild and the National Endowment of the Arts. – Interviewed not only on the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), but also on Joey Reynolds’s show in New York City as well.
